18th January: It begins!

Yes, i've joined a local gym. Newtown Gym in fact. I've only joined for a month, as i'm not sure if Pete and I will be moving house soon or not. The price was right, and its a great gay friendly place, with very little attitude. If you're in the area, give it a go!

So here I am. What do I do once i'm there? I've taken a program out of a magazine called Men's Health (great read, but it if you get the chance and check it out). It's a beginners program and goes something like this:

1 set each of 12-15 repitions (don't ya love it when mags talk dirty like that!): Leg Press, Leg Curl, Barbell Flat Bench Press, Lat Pulldown, Machine Shoulder Press, Barbell Biceps Curl, Triceps Pushdown, Reverse Crunch, and Superman (looks shocking to do, but builds lower back strength apparently). This is kept up for about 4 weeks, and I try and go about 3 times a week, as i'm on late shifts.

So there it is. I started on it today, and am not as sore as I thought I would be, although my legs are feeling it a bit. I guess I should put 'before' pics of me on this page. I'll let you know how I go.
